Trip to Goa
Hello
all, sorry I have not blogged for quite a while… I was a bit caught up…
Anyway,
I have an interesting story for you… Its about our trip to goa! As you can see
above, we definitely had a great time there, and there was so much to do! We
went to Caravela Beach Resort. There, it was luxury next to the beach. We
really enjoyed our time there and there was always something or the other to
amuse us. There was a swimming pool, activities, and not to forget, the beach
itself! Meal times were the BEST.
The
food wasn’t like how you would find it in a normal restaurant where you have to
order selected amounts of food but we had a buffet instead. There were lots of
yummy dishes laid out for us to serve ourselves and we could eat whatever we
wanted and how much we wanted. No limits!.
The
best part was the untimely magic show at dinnertime. There was a storm that
night and me and my family were stuck at the dinner hall since we had to walk a
certain distance in the open to reach our rooms.
There
was a bright flash of lightning and thunder roared over the skies and all of a
sudden there was a magician in front of our eyes.
At
first, my little brother thought he was a ghost but the magician greeted us and
told us his name was ‘Edmundo from Goa’ and he would like to show us a magic
trick or two.
First,
he took out a sponge ball from is pocket and told my cousin to hold it in her
hand. And he asked her to open her hand and lo and behold, there were now
almost some six balls in her hand! Just as things could get even more magical,
he told my mom to hold the six sponge balls in one hand and hold it tightly.
And then he asked her to open her hand and to everyone’s surprise, there was
one giant sponge ball in mom’s hand!
Edmundo
tucked the ball away in his pocket and got out another ball which he placed
under a cup and after asking us some funny questions, he asked my brother to
say abraca dabra and when the magician lifted the cup, instead us the ball,
there was a lemon! And then he repeated the process and now there was a tomato!
We were all astonished.
Next, he took out a pack of cards and asked mom to shuffle it. She shuffled the cards like a pro and gave it back to him. Then he asked me to take one card from the pack and show it to everyone except him. So, I picked out the red ace card, showed it to everyone and slid it into the pile. Again, the magician shuffled the cards and he said “let me show you your card.” And he gave me what was 4 of hearts card. I told him that it wasn’t my card. He simply told me that it would help him find my card. So, he fanned out the cards and asked me to put it somewhere. Then he said that he would surely get it right this time but he gave me the four of hearts again and then he fanned out the cards and there was one there that was turned over and when he picked it up, it was 4 of hearts! Then what was the card that he gave me!? I flipped over the card to find that the 4 of hearts had been turned into an ace! We were all very impressed but it was time to go back to our rooms so we did!
Just before we left the resort, I got to check the Activity room of the resort. I was thrilled to see all the activities they had on offer... I chose to do a mug painting..
What disappointed me, was the toddler play area. They had loads and loads of cheap plastic toys, ball pit. These were exactly the kind of toys I'm trying to raise awareness about.
All in all, I have loads of great memories from Goa, to carry with me for the rest of my life.
